    I have the red light every three seconds and the green flashing light and so have ordered a new thermostat. It appears that the water is not heating at all now though the lights are still the same....

    My green light is flashing on a Thermor 281077. I understand this is a battery fault but you have to buy the complete thermostat. What do the batteries actually do?
